Typhoon Ewiniar, the number one typhoon of the year, swept through the Philippines last weekend, killing at least seven people.
Philippine President Marcos Jr. said search and rescue efforts would continue.
Reuters reported that "Evanni" brought strong winds and rains to provinces south of the capital Manila, forcing the closure of airports and seaports and cutting off power supplies.
Reports say that "Evanni" is moving towards the east coast of Japan, with sustained wind speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour.
