我国将继续调整政策和计划，以支持国民不断改变的需求，从而确保他们的日常生活需要获得满足。
社会及家庭发展部长马善高在新加坡家庭需求研讨会时说，社区关怀计划（ComCare）就是一个例子，但这些政策必须是合理且可持续的。
部长说，大多数国人不愿意缴付更多税，以便为有需要的群体提供必需品。他们较倾向于从其他领域重新分配政府开支。
不过，马善高说，这意味着政府的拨款可能会从某个国人认为应该资助的领域转移到其他重要的领域，但这是一个不容易取得的平衡。
