Canadian female real estate agent kidnapped and burned, three teenagers arrested

A 56-year-old real estate agent who emigrated from Hong Kong to Canada years ago went missing earlier this month. Her burned remains were later discovered in Parry Sound, Ontario. Three teenagers aged between 16 and 17 have been arrested by the police in connection with the case.
According to integrated reports from HK01 and foreign media, Canadian police announced on Thursday (August 22) that they had found the victim's body, which had been burned. The police are still searching for a white Mercedes van suspected to be involved in the case.
The victim, Mei Yuying, worked as a real estate agent in Ontario. She left her residence on August 9 and was last heard from around 11 am when she spoke with her family. Her white Mercedes van was found parked in a mall parking lot later that afternoon.
According to the police, Mei Yuying had planned to conduct a property transaction in a suburban area of Stouffville on the day she disappeared. It is believed she was kidnapped and taken to Parry Sound during this process.
While the exact cause of death has not been determined, there is evidence suggesting that the victim was murdered.
Three suspects, aged between 16 and 17, have been arrested by the police. They have prior criminal records and have been charged with unlawful possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition used for dangerous purposes, as well as fraud. They were seen using the victim's credit card at various locations. Currently, they face charges including unlawful possession of controlled weapons, fraud under CAD 5,000 (approximately SGD 4,807), and failing to comply with probation or release orders. They have not yet been charged with murder-related offenses.
Police believe this was a targeted crime and are investigating why the victim was chosen as the target.
Mei Yuying immigrated to Toronto from Hong Kong in the 1990s. She was active in the local Chinese community and business circles and had completed many commercial real estate and luxury home transactions with investors from China. She was a single mother raising twin sons, one of whom is studying law, while the other is pursuing an accounting certification and works part-time as a real estate agent.
