October 15 is the "International White Cane Day" for the visually impaired. To celebrate this festival, Gardens by the Bay will soon launch a tactile tour project specially designed for the visually impaired. This plan is also one of the local series of activities to celebrate the "International White Cane Day".

The tactile tour project designed for the visually impaired by Gardens by the Bay will add more content combined with sensory experience to make the entire tour more inclusive.

"I hope we can provide new opportunities for customers and even provide guided tours for the visually impaired. Perhaps this is a very interesting reverse experience. Imagine that the tour guide is a visually impaired person."

To celebrate the "International White Cane Day", a cycling event will also be organized to raise funds. Participants can contribute in their own way, regardless of whether they have visual impairments. Organizers said that this shows that sports can also be adjusted to meet the needs of people with disabilities. The Singapore Para Sports Council believes that more and more people are paying attention to the sports needs of people with disabilities.

Fan Shufen, executive director of the Singapore Para Sports Council, said: "More and more clubs and coaches are beginning to learn how to make their teaching more inclusive. Social service agencies are also beginning to realize the importance of sports for people with disabilities and send their staff to learn relevant skills."

The Singapore Association for the Visually Impaired also recognized visually impaired students with excellent academic performance at the event.
