A lorry broke into a tunnel and crashed into the roof. The 55-year-old driver was arrested

A lorry was entering a tunnel on the Central Expressway (CTE) when its boom crashed into the tunnel roof, causing wires to fall off. The tunnel was eventually forced to close.
The accident occurred at the entrance to Cairnhill Circle.
A reader who passed by shared the photo with Global Weekly, and saw that the entrance of the tunnel was full of hanging wires, blocking the view, and a lorry was parked nearby. According to other online videos, the lorry was equipped with a crane arm, which was extended at the time of the accident and not retracted.
The police confirmed to Global Weekly that the police received a report at around 12:05 noon today (8th) that a lorry had an accident on the Central Expressway towards the Seletar Expressway (SLE). After on-site inspection, the accident did not cause any casualties.
The police arrested a 55-year-old male truck driver who was suspected of driving a heavy lorry with a total height of more than 4.5 meters without the accompaniment of a police or auxiliary police officer.
The police said that the investigation of the case is still ongoing.
