Swedish King Visits Singapore, Strengthening Multi-Sector Cooperation with Several Memorandums of Un

Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, who is visiting our country on a state visit, met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong today. The two leaders reaffirmed the increasingly close cooperative relationship between their countries. They also witnessed the signing of five cooperation memorandums aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fields of aviation, defense technology, energy, medical innovation, and transportation.
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong this morning and jointly witnessed the signing of the cooperation memorandums to deepen cooperation in these areas.
Today, King Carl XVI Gustaf also visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between NTU and Lund University in Sweden. This agreement will provide more opportunities for academic exchanges for students from both institutions.
NTU also signed an MOU with a Swedish technology company to explore joint research and development of innovative and efficient energy storage solutions. During his visit, King Carl XVI Gustaf also engaged in discussions with industry leaders and academic experts present on topics related to artificial intelligence.
Additionally, King Carl XVI Gustaf took a ride on a rescue boat from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to tour the area around the Marina Bay Cruise Centre and witnessed a live rescue drill conducted by the SCDF.
