Persistent severe weather conditions in our country and surrounding regions over the past weekend led to several flight delays and rescheduling for Singapore Airlines and Scoot. Both local airlines emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew members is their top priority.

In response to inquiries from "8world News," a Scoot spokesperson explained that flight TR617, originally scheduled to fly from Bangkok to Singapore on Friday (10th), was forced to divert to Batam Island, Indonesia, due to severe weather conditions. The flight eventually arrived in Singapore at 3:04 AM on Saturday (11th).

Additionally, flight TR403, scheduled to depart from Malacca, Malaysia, at 10:15 PM on Friday (10th) for Singapore, was canceled because a fuel tanker malfunction at Malacca International Airport prevented refueling. Scoot arranged accommodation and meals for affected passengers, who were then transported back to Singapore via alternative means by 2 PM on Saturday (11th).

The spokesperson expressed apologies for the delays and cancellations and assured continued monitoring of weather conditions and operational adjustments, along with necessary assistance to passengers in need.

Singapore Airlines also stated that due to the severe weather conditions in Singapore and the surrounding areas over the weekend, several flights experienced delays or required rescheduling. They apologized for any inconvenience caused to affected passengers and reiterated that the safety of passengers and crew members remains their primary concern.

Earlier reports indicated that between the 10th and 13th of this month, twelve flights originally bound for Changi Airport were diverted to other regional airports due to rainy weather. These flights, operated by various airlines, originated from destinations such as Bangkok, Jakarta, Phuket, Shanghai, and landed at airports in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur, Batam, among others.
