The life expectancy of Singaporeans has increased compared to 2023 and ten years ago.

The life expectancy of residents in our country last year increased compared to both 2023 and ten years prior.
Preliminary data from the "Complete Life Tables for Singapore Resident Population 2023–2024," released by the Department of Statistics, showed that the life expectancy at birth for residents last year was 83.5 years—0.3 years higher than the previous year. Compared with 2014, it was 0.9 years higher.
Similarly, the remaining life expectancy for residents at age 65 was 21.2 years, also an increase of 0.3 years compared to the previous year. Compared with 2014, it was 0.6 years higher.
Breaking it down by gender, the life expectancy at birth for males in our country last year was 81.2 years, while for females it was 85.6 years. Compared with the previous year, these figures increased by 0.2 years for males and 0.3 years for females. Compared with 2014, they were 0.9 years and 0.8 years higher, respectively.
Moreover, the life expectancy at age 65 for male and female residents has also risen since 2014—from 18.8 years and 19.5 years respectively to 22.1 years and 22.7 years last year.
