From One Piece to Disney Princesses: Thai Police’s Creative Post Wins Praise

One Piece catching suspects in Thailand?
To shield officers’ identities, the investigative unit used AI to “dress” the cops as One Piece pirates and Disney princesses. The posts exploded online, and netizens are applauding the creativity.
Khaosod reports that while on patrol in Tha Kaphi, Suphan Buri’s Sam Chuk police recently arrested several suspected thieves.
When the station uploaded the story to social media, it ran the officers’ faces through an AI filter, turning them into characters from the Japanese anime “One Piece.”
The tongue-in-cheek caption read:
“The straw-hat pirate has paused his treasure hunt to help Sam Chuk police fight crime.”
Police say the suspects were allegedly on drugs and driving under the influence; they have now been sent through the judicial process.
The post went viral overnight, with countless shares and praise for the force’s humor.
This isn’t Sam Chuk station’s first cartoon makeover: earlier it released a shot of officers re-imagined as Disney princesses making an arrest.
Pol. Col. Kietchai Koetcho, Sam Chuk police chief, says the idea came from the investigative team, aiming to make police–public communication livelier.
The cartoon layers are AI-generated in post-production purely to protect identities; on the street, officers wear standard uniforms.
